WHO WE ARE
Dream in Cosmos is a collaborative network of scientists, philosophers, artists, and policy makers interested in harnessing the full potential of contemporary dream research to generate social impact. Dream in Cosmos originated in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, following anecdotal reports of more bizarre and vivid dreams as lockdowns were imposed across the Globe. Building on the last decades of dream and sleep research, we aim to use the ongoing pandemic as a "natural experiment" to better inform current scientific theories and explore the possibilities of using dream content as a reliable indicator of mental health.
In this process we also aim to explore the mysterious allure of dreaming as a path towards developing artistic concepts that examine the nature of consciousness, perception, death, and our relationship to the Universe.
Our mission is to ensure that data from our research produces far-reaching impact by facilitating knowledge exchange with other disciplines. Our dream database is available to interested parties and, once personal information has been redacted, will be made open access for anyone who wishes to explore the dream reports we have collected. We continue to support anyone who wishes to engage with our work.
